Attorney Sunny Eaton has been a trial lawyer in Tennessee for thirteen years and opened her own law firm in 2010. She has represented hundreds of clients through her former service with the Nashville Public Defender’s office and prior to that, worked in an Entertainment Law firm on music row in Nashville.
Sunny earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the David A. Clarke School of Law at the University of the District of Columbia where she was a member of the International Legal Fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta. She began obtaining her experience in the courtroom through participation in the Juvenile, Special Education and HIV/AIDS Legal Clinics and was a recipient of the David Niblack criminal defense scholarship. Additionally, she was awarded the coveted “Dean’s Cup” and served on the Student Bar Association as the Judiciary Committee Chairperson.
During her time in Washington D.C., Sunny interned at the D.C. Office of the Corporation Counsel, the ServiceMembers Legal Defense Network, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the National Minority AIDS Council and the Law Office of Thomas Heslep.
Sunny has taught courses in Criminal Law & Procedure, Contract Law, Evidence and has been a frequent speaker in the community on a variety of legal topics.
Sunny earned her undergraduate degree from Ball State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with minors in Criminology, Women’s Studies, Religious Studies and Political Science.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Sunny worked as a family counselor and foster parent recruiter. As both an East Nashville homeowner and business owner, Sunny remains active in the Nashville Community.
While Sunny has experience and practices in a variety of legal areas, her true passions and focus of her practice are criminal defense and intellectual property. In 2013, she won dismissals in four separate murder cases and was recently awarded the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Attorney’s “Massey-Mcgee Trial Advocacy Award.”
